The beginning of the new Millennium was celebrated in Repton by a torchlit procession to the Village Hall, where those who were in the village that evening were asked to come and have refreshments and sign their names. The 1,000 signatures were bound into a beautiful leather-bound book which is now kept in the County Records Office, Matlock.
