This will include audio recordings from evacuees. Christmas Social - Tuesday 7^th Decmber 2010 This is planned in Repton Village Hall starting at 7.30 pm and, as before, the event will have refreshments, a raffle, a game or two and maybe some items from willing volunteers. This event is open to members and friends and gives a good opportunity for getting to know one another in a more informal way than is possible at monthly meetings. TUESDAY 15^TH FEBRUARY 2011 ‘Newton Solney: Hoskins’ Derbyshire Elysium” - an illustrated talk by Philip Heath, Heritage Officer for South Derbyshire District Council who will trace how a farming village became a rural arcadia. TUESDAY 15^TH MARCH 2011 ‘The Ashby Canal Past, Present & Future’ An illustrated talk by Geoffrey Pursglove. TUESDAY 19^TH APRIL 2011 ‘Joseph Paxton’: An illustrated talk by Danny Wells. TUESDAY 17^TH MAY 2011 Annual General Meeting plus ‘Derbyshire Born’ - an illustrated talk by Shirley Horton. TUESDAY 21^ST JUNE 2011 An Archives Evening of old Documents, photographs and memorabilia. WEDNESDAY 13^TH JULY 2011 An outdoor visit to Cheadle (Staffs) Church AUGUST 2011 - DATE TO BE CONFIRMED An outdoor visit - details later. TUESDAY 20^TH SEPTEMBER 2011 ‘Best Remedies’ - an illustrated talk by Fiona Ure TUESDAY 18^TH OCTOBER 2011 ‘The Census Story’. A light hearted talk by Wendy Freer. TUESDAY 15^TH NOVEMBER 2011 An illustrated talk: ‘The History of Horology & Conservation’ by Garth Hamp-Gopsill of Time Consortium, Burton TUESDAY 6^TH DECEMBER 2011 Christmas Social to include a post card display about early flying in the Burton area by Richard Farman.
